"CAN DO" STATEMENTS

K-2 or Novice Low to Mid ​

  • I can express my feelings or needs ("Tengo... hambre, sed, frío, miedo, etc.").

  • I can describe things I physically have (ex: objects, body parts).

Additional Statements for 3-5 or Novice Mid to High

  • I can answer "who" and "what" questions such as: "¿Quién tiene la manzana?" and distinguish between "yo" and "tú" in relation to the verb. 

  • I can ask others around me if they have something ("¿Tienes la manzana?"). 

  • I can understand "tengo" as meaning "I have" and "I am" in different contexts.
