Books are great conversation starters. Storytelling is also a powerful tool, particularly for elementary schoolers.

When lesson planning, think about the questions you will ask:

STORYTELLING TOOLS:

Bring in props
-
Give characters personalities- ask the class how they should sound, what their name should be, how they are feeling, etc.

Act out characters with your co-teacher or students
-
Repeat key phrases even if the book does not- make your students feel ownership over the words!
